Quality Peg Construction.
It appears someone tried to pry this open, leaving some dents to the edge of the wood and the door somewhat out on the edge.
We do not have the combo for this, you may be able to get it open with some effort, or cut a round hole in the bottom and place a stopper.
The oak is good thick quality. You could probably sand and re-varnish the light dent area to make look very good. It is ok, now as is.
