Chicken Quilt 52x72 Rooster Hen Blanket Throw
52x72 inches. It is probably classified as a Throw. (Shown on a Queen Size Bed.)
A 52" x 72" quilt is classified as a large throw (sometimes called a twin-sized lap quilt).
Similar to a Fat Cat "Hen Party" Pattern. However I could not find exact squares match, so it might be all original ideas? Anyway no labels, so guessing this is handmade.
The block are single stitch cotton thread and the hen pieces use a more plastic type of thread in a double looping pattern with a loose cut edge extending out a tiny bit (not tucked under or edge looped).
I assume this is handmade; whether a computerized machine (aka digital pattern) helped make this, I have no idea. I am not a quilt person, but I'm pretty sure it is not store bought.
I think the chickens were machine sewn, not hand sew. but probably machine freehand? not computerized? This is all speculation. Different stitching material, so maybe the quilt was made, a little bit older?, and then the chickens were added later?
