Stacy Dragila won one Olympic gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Games, where she was the first-ever women's pole vault champion, and also secured three World Championship gold medals (1999, 2001) and a World Indoor gold (1997), making her a dominant force in the sport's early days.
Stacy attended Idaho State University (ISU) for about four years, competing in track and field in the early 1990s and graduating in 1995, where she initially focused on the heptathlon before her coach Dave Nielsen introduced her to pole vaulting.
