Straight Tenor Trombone (STR) 513
Crafted in Elkhorn Wisconsin USA Quality during the historic Holton transition era when Leblanc took over and lowered the quality.
I believe this is a rare Model 513 variant (referred to in historical Holton catalogs as the 'Custom Collegiate' however it does not say "Custom" on it just Collegiate), specifically known for its factory two-tone rose brass body and gold bell configuration; this one has a 614 slide which I believe is a better "Custom" slide before the bell was stamped as such? factory crossover/transition horn.
The Handslide:
• Excellent Functional Condition: The slide smoothly passes the gravity test! It drops under its own weight without catching or binding. The inner slide tubes are straight and true.
Cosmetic Condition:
• This horn has been well-loved and shows a beautiful vintage patina. There is standard lacquer wear, spotting, and surface oxidation across the body and outer slide from decades of use. There are no major structural dents that affect the playability or sound.
