Solid black backing combined with an older-looking solid wood frame strongly indicates that this is an authentic vintage original from the 1970s or 1980s, rather than a modern reproduction.
The way I understand it, the artist would make copies but each one was original since it was hand painted. So there should be slight variations in every one.
